We use PhotoImpact by Ulead to edit our images.  Example Steps:
  1. We selected a .jpg image and converted it to a .bmp
  2. Resized and cropped image
  3. Changed the colors to green
  4. Added a different logo
  5. Added the name "Fox"
  6. Optimized the file size for the web
  7. Converted images to .GIF files
  8. Created the animation with the GIF Animator (Included).
    For a commercial site we would have used smaller file sizes to improve download time.

The mirrored peel added 75 kb.
over a solid color peel.

We do not pretend to be an expert with images. However with a little practice we learned enough to work with images and convert them to web-ready graphics. We recommend you check out PhotoImpact.
