About GETEC

GETEC Incorporated was started in May of 1985 in Chester, New York. In 1994, we moved into a new 6000 sq. ft. building located in Ferndale, located in the beautiful Catskill Region of New York. GETEC's products are

Hydraulically-Driven Generators
Hydraulically-Driven Welders
Under-Hood Generators
Utility Generators

and a complete line of AC generators. With knowledge taught to us by Mr. Jacob Frank, the original inventor of the first underhood AC generator - the Power-Mite - and patent holder, we developed the Mighty-Max, the underhood belt driven generator and taking advantage of the new technologies; the Might-Max eliminates the flaws of the original design

In 1985, GETEC introduced the first hydraulically-driven brushless generator to the US market, which was quickly imitated by our competitors. The introduction was seen in the September '85 issue of several national trade magazines. Within the second year, we introduced models ranging from 3-10 kW. In 1988, GETEC was first again to introduce hydraulically-driven welders to the US market. We now have models ranging from 200 to 400 amp DC, and to our knowledge, those welders are the smallest on today's market.

The Neckar II was developed in 1990 for one of the largest utility companies on the east coast.

The Neckar II was chosen as a ground
support generator set for the supersonic Concorde airplane fleet
Our generators are also used on board several US Naval aircraft carriers.

Getec currently hold 2 US patents, one is used on our hydraulically-driven generators while the second patent is used on our Neckar II diesel generator sets

What's New at GETEC.

GETEC just recently introduced their new 12 kW and 14 kW hydraulically-driven AC generators. Within the next few months, we will introduce a line of hydraulically-driven generators up to 40 kW, which will include single phase, 3 phase, 5 Hertz and 60 Hertz units. We also recently introduced our 3000 watt mini hydraulic generator, which will be physically the smallest brushless generator on the US market.
