Mission Statement
KCEEs mission is to champion teaching and learning economics and
personal finance with academic integrity, responsiveness, and creativity.

Vision Statement
Empowering all Kentuckians with economic and financial literacy for a stronger, competitive Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Council on Economic Education (KCEE), is a 41-year-old statewide, not-for-profit headquartered in Louisville whose vision and mission are made possible through our collaboration with Bellarmine University at the Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education. KCEE works with teachers, advocates and organizations to help Kentuckians develop the practical, life-long skills necessary in making good economic choices.

KCEE is an affiliate of the National Council on Economic Education (CEE), an organization equipping teachers with the tools to bring economic and personal finance education to life for over 50 years.

Ranked 7th nationally in the national network for training educators to teach economics and personal finance in the classroom, KCEE is the sole organization building teacher competency in the economics field.  KCEE-trained teachers create a multiplier effect that has impacted more than 1,000,000 Kentucky students over the course of 41 years. Through teacher training and classroom programs, KCEE strives to give Kentucky students the necessary knowledge and skills to be financially and personally successful in life so they become wise consumers, employees, and voters/citizens.

KCEEs network includes six Kentucky university-hosted Centers for Economic Education (Bellarmine, Murray State, EKU, WKU, NKU, and Morehead) offering graduate, undergraduate courses, professional development workshops and webinars for teachers who potentially reach tens of thousands of Kentucky students each year. Each year, KCEE hosts the Life Fundamental$ Summit a two day professional development conference for middle/high school educators.

KCEE also delivers programs for the classroom including:

Stock Market Game a national investment simulation with lessons that focus on applying real-world math, reading, research, and 21st Century life skills -- critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, as teams of students invest $100,000 in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds and manage a portfolio.

Take Stock in Kentucky an investment simulation using the Stock Market Game with lessons that focus on teaching about Kentuckys businesses and economy.

Money, Markets, and Moguls a 5th grade student activity that engages students in hands-on learning about production, opportunity cost, human and capital resources, bartering, and profit, as they learn to earn, spend, save, and give back to the community.

Gen I Revolution an online personal finance game, for middle and high school students to learn important personal finance skills as they play and compete against fellow classmates. Each online module has accompanying lesson to use in the classroom.
